Samsung has officially announced a new Galaxy series phone that will attract the customers who are wishing to make a shift to android, but refrain because of just one SIM. This phone is a little lower end as compared to many of the latest Galaxy series phones and tabs, but it has all the features that one would demand in a budge android phone complete with 2 SIM card slots. The new phone is called the Galaxy Core.
The new Galaxy Core is also available in one SIM version as well, but this model will be available only around July. The dual SIM version will be hitting the markets in May only. The new phone will have a 4.3 inch screen which is WVGA and supports a resolution of 400×800 pixels. It has a 1.2 GHz dual core processor and has 1 GB of RAM. The phone will come with 8 GB of internal storage with a slot for MicroSD cards, which will increase the memory by 64 GB.
With a 5 megapixel rear with LED flash and a front VGA camera, which is okay for such a phone, the users will be connecting with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. This makes owning the phone special and is a very attractive feature in its own self. Also, there will be a full support of all the Samsung apps and features that are regular to the Galaxy series like Samsung Hub, Samsung apps and Samsung Kies.
There are certain attractive features for the users as well. It has Smart Stay that is capable of lowering the brightness of the screen when you are not looking at the phone. Plus, Smart Alert will work like a regular personal assistant and will alert you of all the calls, messages etc that you have received while away as soon as you pick it up. There is S Voice as well, which can be used like TalkBack and follows voice instructions. In addition, a gesture capture technology called Samsung Motion will also be a very nice addition to this phone. The Touch Wiz interface is also available for use on the phone.
The battery of the phone is 1800 mAh and it also supports USB 2.0 and 3.0. Therefore, the phone becomes quite a good buy. However, Samsung has not announced anything about the markets where the phones would be first available and what would the price be. We expect that the price band will be quite low.
